09.23.09 - DCHA’s Sheridan Station won a $5.8 million competitive Recovery Act grant from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Sheridan Station is a HOPE VI project that involves the new construction of 344 mixed-income, mixed-tenure housing units on a vacant public housing site located along Suitland Parkway in the historic Anacostia neighborhood of Southeast. The Recovery Act grant is for utilizing green materials and technology to create public housing that conserves energy and encourages more healthy lifestyles.
